Welcome to Calaveras Canine

What We Do

We are a nonprofit organization focused on building fully-fenced dog parks for our furry friends in Calaveras County. Our goal is to establish an ADA accessible, fully fenced, off-leash dog park where well-behaved canine citizens can exercise and socialize in a clean, safe environment without endangering or annoying people, property or wildlife.

More About Us

  •  The community of Murphys and surrounding Calaveras County currently does NOT have a designated fully fenced area for dogs.

  • Our nonprofit would like to develop a well-maintained space in Murphys, open to all responsible residents and visitors who are willing to uphold the park's rules and restrictions. We are viewing this park as a community project, designed to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and non-dog owners alike. Where, not only the dogs, but also the people of the community can socialize and enjoy yet another attraction within Murphys.

  • We also hope to encourage unique dog events such as an informal dog show, professional training sessions, and holiday photo shoots in the dog park, as well as fun human events like a monthly BBQ, live music concerts, or “Yappy Hour” -tasting local wines or brews while dogs play.

  • Our parks would also provide a vital secondary use as an area designated for animals in the city, county, and region’s Emergency Operations/Preparedness Plan.
